Spring meets winter!

I had a charm pack in my drawer, and did not know exactly what to make out of it. But I have not made tumblers before, so this it what I came up with!
Fabric line is "Spring magic" from Moda.
I love the way this turned out! These fabrics do not need a lot of cutting, they
look so good anyway.
Picture is taken out in the snow, not much spring going on around here yet!

I have made some muffins today too, these are soooo good, even if they look a bit strange. Recipe is found here. I add blueberries and use banana yoghurt instead of plain, and on these I also added topping made of cinnamon, butter, flour and sugar.

Hope everybody is having a great weekend!

I won!

I'm a lucky girl!
Recently, I participated in a challenge at "Quilt i Norge"...
We were supposed to finish some of our UFO's during January. I only got one done, but lucky me, I won the first prize!
Toja sent me these wonderful pieces of fabric, and I just love them:-)
Thank you so much! Usually, I never win anything, so this was such a nice surprise.

Besides that, I have been busy sewing pinwheel blocks for a quilt for my aunt. She filled 60 at the end of January, and this is her very late birthday present. I still need to add some borders, but I have to buy fabric for them first!
Bamse was very helpful today, when I took the pictures:-)

A swap recieved and some bags!

I have been a bad blogger lately, and I have no excuse! But I have been cutting down on my computer time, there is so much else to do!
Anyway, here is a little update on what's been happening:
About two weeks ago I got this wonderful swap-package from Simona in Croatia.
Look at all the wonderful things she sent! The mini quilt with the three hedgehogs are so cute, I love it. And she must have been reading in my blog, because she found out about my love for buttons, and sent me some beautiful vintage ones.
And there was also some lovely variegated embroidery floss made in Croatia, that I will make good use of!
The fabric-calendar is so nice, I am going to sew on some borders and put it on the wall of my sewing-room. And she sent a postcard with a picture of her hometown and a nice note where she wrote a little about herself.
So thank you so much Simona! I love what you sent and think the stitchery is adorable:-)
I have been sewing a little too, not much, but a little to show you anyway.
I made three small bags, they were all made from the same set of stripes, but they all look different anyway.I used ricrac for oe of them, the other is a shoulder bag with a vintage needle, and on the third I made a yoyo with leaves and a vintage button.
As you can see it is cold here with lots of snow, but it makes good photos:-)

Beautiful and freezing!

I thought I'd show you some pictures I took the other day, when we were out walking the dog...
It was such a beautiful day, with bright sun. But freezing! It has been a very cold January so far, but the temperature has gone up a little the last days.
We usually say that there is no bad weather, only bad clothing, so we dress up for the cold and take the dog out no matter what the temperature is. And Bamse doesent mind if it's a little cold, he loves to be outside anyway!

Time for some UFO's...

I am trying to finish some UFO's at the moment, I have way too many of those!
This is the first two, made from 2.5 " squares from a swap at Quilt i norge, the norwegian forum I am a member in.
I was not too happy about the quilting on these, so I "forgot" about them for a long time. But I finally took the time and sewed on some binding the other day! And you know what? It was not too bad after all:) So now I have a new runner for my dining table and a tabletopper too:-)

Last projects in 2009 / first in 2010!

I did some sewing between Christmas and new year, not much, but I'll show you what I made.
This bag was a gift for a good friend who has her birthday on the 30'th of december. She loves green, so I just had to make her a bag in that colour:-)
She really liked it, so I hope she will make good use of it!

The mini quilt is my contribution in the "fall-inspired mini quilt swap" over at quilting gallery. I used a pattern from an old issue of "American patchwork and quilting" but changed it a little.

It has been sent to ??? today, I hope she likes it! It was fun making it...

Some of the last christmas presents is finished...

I have been doing a lot of finishes for christmas the last week, so now I am near to finished with the presents! Just some small things left...
The hotwater-bottle is made in fleece and with the cute stitchery from a free pattern at Cinderberry Stitches...

These baskets made with inspiration from a pattern at Pink Penguin, will be filled with all sorts of goodies and other things one might need, and given to the oldest in my family (not easy to figure out what to give people that are 80+)...

...And these two wallhangings are presents for someone else (can't tell who they are, just in case they are peeking in my blog)...

I am off to finish the rest of the presents today, just have to make dinner first.

Have a great Sunday, everyone!

My christmas-gifts is almost ready:-)

More christmas... the two christmas-stockings was so easy to put together, I just quilted the red fabric with variegated thread, and added the border on top of them. The one with the prairie-points was sold at the christmas-market:-)
The potholders was easy too, the leaves was fuzzy-cut from an old christmas-fabric I got from my grandmother. I sold one of the two pairs:-)

More christmas!

I have been making a lot of christmas related items lately, I really love christmas and all that comes with it. I like to decorate for the holidays around the house, and I allways like to have something new to put on display.
I made this tablerunner with some inspiration from a norwegian designer (Lise Bergene). It was simple and easy to sew. I sewed on some buttons from my "treasure chest" and quilted it with some stippling. It's a little untraditional in the colours, but I really like it:-)
The tabletopper was a lot of work, but really fun to make! I used a lot of different christmas-fabric for the dresden plates, and solid white for the background. Solid red and a red/white fabric for the sashing and border. And for the binding I used a red, white and gray striped fabric. To me, this says christmas all over:-)
