Hoping all of you are going to have a great Christmas... GOD JUL!
Big hugs from me:-)

Some of the last christmas presents is finished...

I have been doing a lot of finishes for christmas the last week, so now I am near to finished with the presents! Just some small things left...
The hotwater-bottle is made in fleece and with the cute stitchery from a free pattern at Cinderberry Stitches...

These baskets made with inspiration from a pattern at Pink Penguin, will be filled with all sorts of goodies and other things one might need, and given to the oldest in my family (not easy to figure out what to give people that are 80+)...

...And these two wallhangings are presents for someone else (can't tell who they are, just in case they are peeking in my blog)...

I am off to finish the rest of the presents today, just have to make dinner first.

Have a great Sunday, everyone!

My christmas-gifts is almost ready:-)

More christmas... the two christmas-stockings was so easy to put together, I just quilted the red fabric with variegated thread, and added the border on top of them. The one with the prairie-points was sold at the christmas-market:-)
The potholders was easy too, the leaves was fuzzy-cut from an old christmas-fabric I got from my grandmother. I sold one of the two pairs:-)

More christmas!

I have been making a lot of christmas related items lately, I really love christmas and all that comes with it. I like to decorate for the holidays around the house, and I allways like to have something new to put on display.
I made this tablerunner with some inspiration from a norwegian designer (Lise Bergene). It was simple and easy to sew. I sewed on some buttons from my "treasure chest" and quilted it with some stippling. It's a little untraditional in the colours, but I really like it:-)
The tabletopper was a lot of work, but really fun to make! I used a lot of different christmas-fabric for the dresden plates, and solid white for the background. Solid red and a red/white fabric for the sashing and border. And for the binding I used a red, white and gray striped fabric. To me, this says christmas all over:-)

Hearts for christmas:-)

I have been sewing some hearts from scraps... I think they got really cute! I sold a couple of them on the christmas-market (will make a post about it soon), but I still have some left for christmas presents.

Only weeks left until christmas...

I am participating in a christmas-market tomorrow, and I have been sewing a lot of things for it... This basket is one of the items, and I also plan to make a few of them for christmas presents! It's hard to figure out what to give to the oldest members of the family, so I thought that I could make baskets like this for them, and fill them with things they need/like... Like chocolate, coffee, tea, jam etc...
The fabric inside the red border is Norwegian, from Sandvika veveri, and the verse is a traditional Norwegian christmas-song. I thought it was fun to fuzzy-cut the fabric and use it for something like this basket.

Bag made from 3,5" squares.

I made a bag the other day, from some Amy Butler fat quarters.
Actually, I have been cutting squares for four of these, this is the first one finished. A tutorial for this bag can be found here.
I love the shape of this, and the bag is small, but it can still hold a lot of things. Picture number two shows a detail of the back. I quilted it with a simple stipple.
The handles are not Amy Butler fabric, I used it all for the squares! But I think this fabric works out great too, it's Kaffe Fasset, and very similar to the Amy Butler's.

I'm back!

Finally I have been sewing something! I'm so sorry for not blogging the last weeks, but I just had nothing to show you... I have been ill for two weeks and has not been able to sew. But now I am so inspired, after seeing so many wonderful blogs and shops online... (there was a lot of time online for me while I was ill)
This is the first thing I want to show you, a small bag for christmas.
This is made from tiny scraps that was leftovers from this project, the triangeles are small! But it was fun sewing this, using some trims and ric rac...
This would be really nice to give away for christmas with a tea-cup, some tea and some chocolate in it. So that's what I'll do:-)

Thank you Katha, for loving my blog! This award warms my heart:-)

A beautiful surprise!

Some days ago I went to get my mail, and there was a package for me from France! I had no idea what it was, but when I saw who had sent it, I knew that this was something great.
Claudine, who was my swap partner in the friendship bag swap, had sent me she sweetest surprise! She is the best:-)
Look at this cute little bag, and the lovely Christmas-ornament:-) I love angels, I love christmas, so this is such a thoughtful and caring present:-)
Claudine is so good at embroidery and the applique angel is so cute.
Thank you Claudine! You made my gray winter-day go bright and shiny:-) I love the gifts from you.

My mothers new "baby"!

My mother came over yesterday for some help, she wanted me to mount this santa for her!
It is knitted and then washed to shrink into shape.
I mounted all the pieces, and filled it with rice and fiber fill. Glued on eyes and beard, and put some color in cheeks and nose.
He got sooo cute, don't you think? She promised me that I might get one just like him for Christmas:-)

Friendship bag swap!

I recievd my friendship bag some weeks ago, but because of my computer problems, I have not been able to blog about it. I got this wonderful bag with two beautiful fat quarters from Tonya all the way from North Carolina in the USA.
It makes me think of spring with the nice green, white and purple colors:-)
Thank you so much Tonya!

My stitchers angel presents was recieved:-)

I got a nice email yesterday from Katha in Hungary, letting me know that she finally got her parcel from me. And she liked it! Now I can relax knowing that it traveled safely and got to Hungary without problems.
I made her some things that I thought she would like, in her favorite color red. This pincushion...

...And I made her a little wallhanging for christmas, since I found out that she is loving christmas as much as I do:-)

Then there was this bag, a notebook with cover and a tissue cover. Sorry about the blurry photo! I put in some embroidery needles and a scissor for her, she makes the most amazing embroideries in cross-stitch... In this was also two chocolates, witch i did not get on the photo...

Now you may notice that there are not a lot of roses in the items, I got a litttle far from the theme for the swap, I hope it doesent matter...

And at last I made her a tea cup carrier, and put in a nice cup and some tea. Again, sorry about the bad photo...

I am so happy she liked it, I really enjoyed making these things for her:-)

Work in progress!

I know, I have been a bad blogger lately... But I have an excuse! My computer broke down... Again! The words I said when it happened do not do well in print, it was bad... Luckily we have a mini-laptop, but it's not really good to store pictures in it. But it will do for now!
I recently bought a new tool, the "eazy dresden ruler" and I love it! It makes the dresden plates become so easy to make, so I have been cutting wedges like a mad woman:-)
I see now that this is a lot of work, but I think they will turn out fine once they are done.
So here is a picture of my work in progress:
These will become pot holders for christmas, I don't know how many, but I think there will be a few pairs:) I have not decided on what type of fabric I will use for the middle yet, but I think it have to be something in red and white.
I just hope they will be finished for Christmas! I'm starting to panic a little now...

An angel sent me the most beautiful gifts!

As I told you yesterday, I recieved a lovely package with the most wonderful things for the stitchers angel swap. Kymberly have really spoiled me! She has made the most beautiful things, just take a look! When I opened the package, this lovely bag is the first thing I saw...

And then it just went on... This beautiful bookkeeper is a pattern from moda bakeshop and I really adore it! I love the stitchery on it, what a great idea! Kymberly also included a notebook.

Then there was this needlebook, it is just lovely. I like the patterns from Natalie Lymer so much, so this is so nice. I did not have a needlebook either, so it was a perfect gift:-)
Included in this was some DMC thread and a pack of embroidery needles:-)

At last there was this... Dont know exactly what to call it in english, but this is a bag that holds a mini cutting mat and ruler. Wich was included in the package:-) I really feel spoiled! Kymberly made so many beautiful things for me, and I love the fabric line she used. And her stitches are so great. Thank you!

Here is all of the things she sent, she even included some extra goodies, two beautiful patterns, a nice cosmetics bag with cream and cleansing for the skin, and some Halloween candy!

I will take good care of these things that Kymberly sent me, they are all beautiful:-)

I'm a lucky girl!

I Am Such a lucky girl, I have had the most wonderful surprises in my mail this week. I'll write about the first one now, and the other one tomorrow:-)
I am participating in the friendship bag swap at quilting gallery, and some weeks ago I sent this bag to Claudine in France.
Alltough I have not recieved the bag from my swap partner yet, I know it's on it's way:-)
But while browsing the flickr group for the swap, I got in touch with a wonderful woman that asked me if I would like to swap a bag and a quilting magazine with her! Of course I said yes:)
So I made her this bag and filled it with some fat quarters and another surprise, and sent it on it's way to the US:-)
She sent me a nice email when she got it, so now I know I can post a picture.
A couple of days later I got this nice surprice in my mail! A really cute bag with a paper-pieced heart and six wonderful fat quarters of 30's reproduction fabrics, wich I love! She also included a piece of Americana fabric, that are so nice. And ofcourse the McCalls quilting magazine, with a lot of nice projects that I will try sewing. And se had put in a pattern for a cute doll, I will try making that one as well.

I am really happy with this generous swap, Deborah! I love the bag and the goodies you sent me:-)
Tomorrow I will write about the stitchers angel swap, I recieved a wonderful package today, and I have a lot of pictures to share:-)

I'm sewing...

...But I have nothing to show you yet! The items I have made lately are all for swaps, so I really can't show you any of them... Don't want to spoil the surprise!
Well, got one other thing to tell you, remeber when I told about my fiancee and the dog going hunting? It went really well with them! The dog did really good, and tracked down two moose:-) Not bad for a 7 month old puppy! I think he will be a great hunting-dog:-)

Spring???

Ok, I know that it's autumn now, but this cute stitchery reminds me of spring...
I had to make a quick little gift for a friend of mine that I went to visit yesterday. And I had this stitchery ready to make into a cute wallhanging! It was done in about 45 minutes.
The pattern is a freebie from needlecrafter, gotta love that website! I adore all those vintage patterns, and are so glad someone is taking the time to share them.

Here is a detail of the stichery:

I also made another gift for her, as the reason for my visit was that she had a baby! A cute little boy named Eirik:-) So I made a small baby-quilt with fleece on the back. Don't know what I think of it, was'nt quite happy with the result. It's unsymmetrical, and i don't really like things that are like that... But she loved it anyway, so I guess it was fine!

Pot holder swap!

I am a member of a Norwegian forum called "Quilt i norge" and Toja arranged a swap for pot holders in September. We had one month to sew and send them, and each participant whished for colours or theme. And I whished for something "Christmas'y"
Look what I got! They are sooo beautiful, and it was Toja who made them for me:-)

I'm sure you understand how happy I was when these was in the mail!

Thank you soooo much Toja:-)

So quiet in my house!

...Because I sent these two out hunting today...
(Sorry for the bad photo, it's the only one I had on this computer)
Oh well, I guess I can sew a lot when they are in the woods looking for the big brown/gray animals!
It's the first time the dog is participating in hunting, so it's really exciting...
Can't wait to hear how he reacts the first time he is close to that big moose...
A little worried as well...

Another swap!

I decided to join another swap! It is sooo exciting...

Pot holders!

I have been making some pot holders for a swap we are having in a quilting forum I am a member of here in Norway. I made one pair that I didn't like, so I gave it another try and came up with these! They are quite simple. I used scraps in cream and sand and sewed together strips. I then cut squares a little "off" 4x4 inch, and sewed 4 together. Quilted with a simple stippling and binding in black and white. The wooden buttons added a nice final touch.

So I hope the woman I am swapping with likes them! She asked for colors in sand/beige and black/white.

Crazy about bags!

Ok, I promised earlier today that I had something to show you!
After I participated in the "friendship bag" swap, I just coulden't stop making them... They are excellent for practicing free-motion quilting, and I need to practice!
So here are two more of these cute little bags:

For some detail, I made a cute little flower in crochet, and added a vintage glass-button (I love my buttons:-). I also sewed in a button for closing the bag.I think these came out really cute! Great for party's when you only need your cell-phone and some lipstick:-)

And from the last scraps from these bags, I made a mini-quilt, again to practice the free-motion quilting... (Sorry about the bad photo, it was dark outside so I had to take it indoors)

I gave this mini-quilt along with some other goodies to a good friend of mine who had her birthday last sunday. Want to see what she got?

So this is what I have been up too the last couple of weeks. I'm really sorry it took me so long to blog about it! Hopefully I'll do better from now...

Have a nice day!

Just saying hello!

Hello people!
Wow, it's been a loooong time since my last post!
I'm having some issues with my computer, and besides that, haven't been able to sew much lately. But I have a little something to show you later today! I am making some small projects, and planning a lot more of them!
Can't make a post without a picture, so I thought I would show you one of the first tabletoppers I ever made!
This one was given to my father for christmas many years ago. I love the yellow and white/cream combination in it.

Another tabletopper!

I finished this tabletopper yesterday, after deciding to keep the tabletopper from my last post. This is actually a UFO that has been in the drawer for about a year, finished the top but didn't quilt it. The fabrics is from a pack of fat eights I bought a long time ago, so I don't remember the name of it. But I really like the colors and the coffee-theme.
I hope this will be a nice birthdy-present!
