I love this song!
I have no words to describe the horrible act of terror that was made this friday in Oslo and in Utoya...
My thoughts goes to the people affected by this, parents, friends and family.
I light candles for the victims.
I joined several swap's over at Flickr, and this is the first one finished.
In the "Pretty Little Pouch swap 2" I got a wonderful partner, and I think she will like this. It's a small pouch (5"x 8"), and I loved making it!
This is the back of the pouch. Sorry about the ugly piece of paper on it, but there's a name behind it. I don't want to spoil the surprise, just in case she happens to read my blog.
This is the front.
I made half of a Dresden plate from scraps and sewed it on a very rough piece of linen (from IKEA).
The pattern I used is the Keyka Lou Inset Zip Pouch, but I gave it my own twist.
The zipper came from my grandmothers stash, I'm so happy I can use the things from her. I added a colorful piece of ribbon to the zipper pull.
Hmmm, Blogger doesen't want to place my photos in the order I want them...
Well, anyway, I participated in a swap on Flickr, the Mug Rug Swap Adventure 2, and this is what I recieved. Isn't this mug rug beautiful? Thank you so much, Wendy!
She even included some teabags. I love tea, so that was great.
And now, for my birthday present... I love it! I have been wanting a new sewingmachine for years, but the type of machine I wanted was way too expencive. I have been drooling over this Janome since it came on the market, but couldn't afford it.
Well, I had my birthday recently, and my whole family gathered together and gave me money so I could buy it. I love them sooooo so much! And I guess they know me so well, they understood that this was the best gift I could ever get.
Thank you to every single one of you, you are the best:-)
The first item I made on the new machine it this mug rug...
I can't show you anything but a sneak peek, because this is my item for the Mug Rug Swap Adventure 2, and I don't want to spoil the secret for my partner, in case she reads my blog. I'll show you later.
I went out of the box with this, and I'm very happy with the result. Combining my two favorite hobbies, quilting and crochet, was so much fun!
Only scraps were used, pretty happy with that, too.
I made four small drawstring bags last week, I love these colours.
I have not been on the "red & aqua" wave, but I do love those colours together.
These bags are for sale in my shop(see sidebar)
