No words...

I have no words to describe the horrible act of terror that was made this friday in Oslo and in Utoya...

My thoughts goes to the people affected by this, parents, friends and family.

I light candles for the victims.

Time for some swapping!

I joined several swap's over at Flickr, and this is the first one finished.

In the "Pretty Little Pouch swap 2" I got a wonderful partner, and I think she will like this. It's a small pouch (5"x 8"), and I loved making it!

This is the back of the pouch. Sorry about the ugly piece of paper on it, but there's a name behind it. I don't want to spoil the surprise, just in case she happens to read my blog.

This is the front.

I made half of a Dresden plate from scraps and sewed it on a very rough piece of linen (from IKEA).

The pattern I used is the Keyka Lou Inset Zip Pouch, but I gave it my own twist.

The zipper came from my grandmothers stash, I'm so happy I can use the things from her. I added a colorful piece of ribbon to the zipper pull.

I hope my partner will like this as much as I do! It's been a very fun pouch to sew, and I enjoyed using linen.

Now I'm off to find some goodies to put in the pouch! I think I have a couple of things in mind:-)

The best birthday present ever.

Hmmm, Blogger doesen't want to place my photos in the order I want them...

Well, anyway, I participated in a swap on Flickr, the Mug Rug Swap Adventure 2, and this is what I recieved. Isn't this mug rug beautiful? Thank you so much, Wendy!

She even included some teabags. I love tea, so that was great.

And now, for my birthday present... I love it! I have been wanting a new sewingmachine for years, but the type of machine I wanted was way too expencive. I have been drooling over this Janome since it came on the market, but couldn't afford it.

Well, I had my birthday recently, and my whole family gathered together and gave me money so I could buy it. I love them sooooo so much! And I guess they know me so well, they understood that this was the best gift I could ever get.

Thank you to every single one of you, you are the best:-)

The first item I made on the new machine it this mug rug...

I can't show you anything but a sneak peek, because this is my item for the Mug Rug Swap Adventure 2, and I don't want to spoil the secret for my partner, in case she reads my blog. I'll show you later.

I went out of the box with this, and I'm very happy with the result. Combining my two favorite hobbies, quilting and crochet, was so much fun!

Only scraps were used, pretty happy with that, too.

I hope everyone is having a great week!
Hugs:-)

Small things...

I made four small drawstring bags last week, I love these colours.

I have not been on the "red & aqua" wave, but I do love those colours together.

These bags are for sale in my shop(see sidebar)

I hope you are having a great weekend!

Drawstring.

I made a small drawstring bag the other day, I think it got kind of cute. A little "hippie"... And it shouts summer!

I love rick rack, crochet details, buttons and drawstring bags, so this is totally "me".

Another swap!

I have joined a swap I found at flickr, the Mug Rug Swap Adventure 2. Partners were assigned Friday, so I have an idea about what fabrics etc I will use.

This will be fun!

I got mail!

I have been in a swap for a zippy purse, and today I got some lovely mail!
Francisca from The Netherlands was my swap partner, and she spoiled me:-)

This is what I got, a lovely zippered pouch, a mini zippered coin pouch and a key holder.

Thank you so so much! I love everything you sent me.

The key holder:

And the cute coin pouch:

Here is a detail of the zippered purse, she put my initial on it.

I love the fabrics Francisca used, it is so my colors and style.

I know Francisca got the zippy purse from me as well, but I forgot to take photos of it... And she does not blog, so unfortunatly I can't show you what I made. But it sounded like she liked it!
