Little houses!

I made some houses, for Christmas.
Made with scraps only (the linen is not exactly scraps, but stash fabric for more than 10 years). These were a lot of fun! I think I will make more:-)

Great for Christmas presents:-)

The last of my swaps.

As I told you yesterday, I have a couple of more things to show you.
First, the "Pretty Little Pouch Swap", which I sent to Megan in Los Angeles.
She got the package, and I think she liked it.
I made this pouch from the Curvy Clutch pattern from Keyka lou.
I really loved sewing this clutch, I had fun choosing fabrics, quilting the linen and playing with different types of wrist bands. I ended up using a chain.

The last swap I was in, was the "Goodie Bag Swap", where we sew bags for a secret partner and send it filled with some scraps and if we want to, some other extras as well.
I had a lot of difficulties with this swap, I made three bags before I was happy with the result.
Again, I used a Keyka Lou pattern, this time it was the "Lots of Pockets Tote" pattern.
I love the result, but my partner didn't receive her package yet, so I can't tell you where I sent it. But here it is:

I have decided that this was my last swap in 2011, I need to focus on Christmas presents and other things. I'll get back to swapping next year!

Been busy!

I'm so sorry I have been away from my blog for far too long... I have been busy with life and some sewing!
There has been some swaps that I will show you, and some Christmas presents that are in the making.

First of all, my mug rug from the "Mug Rug Swap adventure 3"!
This one came from Sweden, from Karin.
She made me a beautiful Christmas mug rug, and sent some very nice extras along with it.
Thank you so much!

Then there is the "Scrappy Swap", and I got the most thoughtful gift ever from Marian!
She made a frame from fabric scraps in my favorite color and framed a lovely poem she found on my other blog. I can't tell you how much this poem means to me, and how well it describes the feelings and emotions about loosing a baby...

She also sent wonderful scraps and a delicious chocolate... Chocolate didn't make it into the picture, I'm afraid.

I have been sending some swaps too, the "Scrappy Swap" to Leila.
She is expecting her first baby, so I made a little hat to send along with the scrappy pouch and fabric scraps.

I have a couple of other things to show you too, but I think I'll save it for another post.
Have a good weekend!

Hugs <3

Mug Rug Swap adventure 3.

I joined this swap for the second time, and this round there was a holiday themed swap. The twist was that our swap partners could choose their holiday!

My partner had chosen Thanksgiving as her holiday, so that gave me a challenge. We don't celebrate Thanksgiving in Norway, but I did my best and came up with this!

Maybe it's not exactly Thanksgiving, but at least it's autumn themed, and as my swap partner said that she likes rich, warm autumn colors, I think this will be ok.

I added some cute little details, buttons, crochet leaves and rick rack. I'm happy with the mug rug, and I hope the recipient will be too. It was sent on a long journey yesterday!

Have a nice sunday!

Swaps... Again!

First, I would like to take the opportunity to tell my readers that today is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day. This is a cause that needs more attention.

I will light candles this evening, and I hope you will too.

Now, to something completely different!
I had a great mail day yesterday:-)

My Pretty Little Pouch arrived!
It came all the way from Florida, USA, and it is the most gorgeous project pouch.

I love the details, stitchery, YoYo's, the zipper pull... Beautiful!
The green text fabric is great.

There were extras in the pouch too.
Beautiful, hand dyed yarn from Chile, and a crochet pattern.
This yarn is gorgeous, soft, and it has a great color.

And another pretty little pouch!
Lovely green fabric, and with pockets inside.

I love all of my presents, thank you from the bottom of my heart to Jeannie in Florida!
She is such a great swap partner.

F-R-I-E-N-D-S swap.

I had lots of fun making and shopping the items for this swap! It is going all the way to Sue in Australia. I really hope she will like her swap!
These are sneak peeks, I don't want to ruin all of the surprise.

Sue likes rich autumn colors.

Something for sewing.

Something to wear.

Something to write ideas in.

Something for sewing and something for personal use.

I put a couple of surprises in the package as well, a last minute gift...
Hope you like this, Sue! I had a great time with this.

Doll Quilt Swap 11 recieved!

I got my quilt a few days ago, all the way from Asheville, North Carolina, USA.
Thank you so much, Amy!

She made me a very nice little quilt, with some of my favorite colors.
I love it!

Amy also included a charmpack of "terrain" fabrics by Kate Spain.
I will have to figure out what to sew from it, because the fabrics are just lovely!

Love the backing of the quilt as well, cute fabric with cherries on it:-)

Doll Quilt Swap 11.

This was the most exciting swap for me ever, and I was VERY nervous when I signed up! There are sooo many talented ladies in this swap, could I make something that would be good enough for it?
All I can say is that I tried my very best, and that I hope my partner likes it!

This tiny little quilt was a real pain in my b*** to sew, I have never used the seam ripper more. But I love the way it turned out.

It measures 13.5" square, so you can imagine how tiny the half square triangles are.
There are 9 "Lady Of The Lake" blocks, all made from scraps.

I know the points in the HST's are not perfect, but it's so small that this was the best I could do. After all, this is my very first mini quilt. Ever!
I had a hard time deciding how to quilt it, but I landed on some random lines and in the ditch around the borders. I hope my partner likes it:-)

The back of the quilt.
I thought this fabric was perfect for the backing, and the binding just HAD to be red.

I sent it today, to someone far away from here;-)
